FAQs

Waste Management Frequently Asked Questions

  • What size garbage cans do you accept?

    We accept 20-gallons, 32-gallons, 64-gallon toters and 96-gallon toters.

  • Can I provide my own 64-gallon or 96-gallon toter?

Yes, but it does need to have a metal bar in the front for our trucks to hook onto.

  • Do I have to provide my own can?

If you have 20-gallon or 32-gallon service, you will need to provide your own can. It should have a lid and two handles. It should not weigh more than 65 gallons when full.

We can provide a 64-gallon or a 96-gallon toter for you to use while you have service with us (subject to availability).

  • How quickly can I start service after signing up?

It depends on where you are located and what service you are signing up for. Please give us a call.

  • How do I sign up for service?

You can either call us, email us, or come into the office in person.

  • Do you require a deposit?

We do not require a deposit for regular garbage service. We do require a down payment for our 30-yard drop boxes.

  • When do I need to have my garbage out?

It will need to be out by the road by 7 a.m. on our route day unless you are told to have it out earlier or you pay for a walk-in/drive-in service.

  • Can I stop my service while I am on vacation?

Yes. You must call us in advance and let us know when your last pickup will be. Please note that no credit will be given for less than two weeks of no service.

  • I forgot to put my garbage out. What can I do?

You can request a special pickup for a fee. You can also put out extra the following week, but you will be charged an extra fee. For example, if you have one 32-gallon can for weekly pickup and you missed a week, so you put out two cans the next week, you will be charged for one extra can.

  • What happens if the route is cancelled due to weather?

You will put out double garbage on your next regularly scheduled route day if you are a weekly customer. If you are an every-other-week or a once-a-month customer and the cancellation lands on your pickup day, you will put your garbage out the following week on your route day.

We will update our Facebook, website and voicemail for route cancellations as soon as we are able. We will also send out an email to all affected customers with an email address on file.

  • How can I pay my bill?

You can mail your payment to PO Box 548, Cathlamet, WA 98612. You can also drop one off in person during office hours at 102 Main Street, Suite 203 in Cathlamet. We also have a payment drop box inside the Cathlamet Pharmacy and outside of our office building doors.

We also accept ACH and credit/debit card payments over the phone during office hours or online at www.trashbilling.com.

  • Do you provide recycling services?

We do not. The county provides self-service recycle bins that accept cans, mixed paper, and flattened cardboard in Cathlamet in the parking lot between the grade school playground and the high school, next to the fire hall on the island off of State Route 409, and near the fire hall in Skamokawa off of East Valley Rd.

  • Do you have dumpsters?

We have 1.5-yard dumpsters and 30-yard roll-off drop boxes. Please call for pricing.
